One Gallon Jug (Fox Style)

A classic jug in a style first created by the Fox family of Chatham County, NC. Ben Owen Sr. made this jug in the 1960s in his own interpretation of the design. The ring lines on the surface is made by a fork while the clay is still wet. Fired in a traditional wood fired groundhog kiln to 2300 and heavily salted to create the orange peel texture and natural ash glaze on the shoulder. Measuring 8” x 8” x 12” tall.
